The Schlitterbahn water parks truly live up to the saying, “Everything’s bigger in Texas”. These massive waterparks are a staple in every real Texans summer. These parks are such a hit that even Kansas City had to get one!

Many different cities/states claim to have “The best BBQ”, but just like everything else, they are all second best to Texas. From tailgating, barbeque pits and meat shops, anyway you have BBQ in the lone star state, you can’t go wrong. Just be ready to come hungry and leave full.

Not only is Austin the capital of the best state in the US, it is also the Live Music Capital of the World. It is no coincidence that the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) music, film and interactive festival is located here. If you want to have a great time, visit AUSTIN!

4. High School Football

As depicted in countless TV shows and movies, high school football in Texas is way bigger than “just a silly game”. There’s no question that you will find the whole city at the local high school every Friday night. Do not be shocked when local establishments are closed because they are attending the game!

5. Lone Star Beer

Is there a better way to show your state pride than to drink your own beer? Lone Star beer clearly defines the Texas mentality, “Drinking any other beer is TREASON”. ENOUGH SAID!

Buc-ee’s is not your average gas station/convenience store/truck stop or whatever you want to call it! You can find anything here from clothes, snacks, beer and gas. Most importantly you will find the cleanest bathrooms hands down, check it out for yourself!

7. The Rodeo

What’s Texas without a good Rodeo?! Yea this one lives up to the “country” stereotype but it truly is very entertaining. Plus you’ll get to throw on some cowboy boots and a 10 gallon hat, heck you can even drink a couple of Lone Stars while you’re at it!
